Behavioral Signals grades customer-engagement metrics against the competitors you track.

Included signals

  • Review response rate
  • Review response time
  • Review velocity
  • Photo count
  • Post frequency
  • Review recency
Each signal is graded A through F when NearIQ has enough business and competitor data. If a signal says it needs data, connect the relevant listing, add competitors, or wait for the next background check. The overall engagement score averages only comparable signals with enough data. Unavailable signals are excluded instead of being scored as zero, so a newly connected business is not penalized for metrics NearIQ has not collected yet.

Why a signal can show no data

Some metrics need review rows, owner replies, listing snapshots, or connected first-party data. A review-count total alone is not enough to calculate owner response rate because NearIQ must know which individual reviews have owner responses. Review the data coverage panel first, then work through the priority actions. Actions focus on practical fixes such as replying to reviews, refreshing photos, and improving review request cadence.
