What are AI agents?

AI agents are scheduled tasks that run automatically on a cadence you define. Each agent has a specific job — monitor a set of competitors, generate a weekly report, watch for review attacks — and delivers results to your dashboard, email, or webhook.

What you see: open Agents, choose a monitor template, name the agent, set the cadence, create it, and run the first check. The clip uses product-demo sample data only.

Available agent types

Watchdog

Monitors all your competitors 24/7 and generates a structured alert when it detects a significant change. More intelligent than rule-based alerts — the Watchdog understands context (e.g., a rating drop combined with a review surge is more significant than either alone).

Intelligence Reporter

Generates a formatted competitive intelligence report on a schedule (daily, weekly, or monthly). The report includes a narrative summary, competitor standings, opportunities, and recommended actions.

Review Responder (coming soon)

Drafts responses to new reviews using your brand voice. You approve before posting.

Rank Monitor (coming soon)

Automatically runs rank checks for your top keywords on a schedule and alerts you when your position changes.

Setting up an agent

  1. Go to AI Agents tab
  2. Click New agent
  3. Choose the agent type
  4. Configure the schedule (daily / weekly / monthly)
  5. Set the delivery method (in-app, email, webhook)
  6. Click Activate

How agents use your data

Agents have access to all data in your NearIQ account:
  • Competitor snapshots (ratings, review counts, GBP data)
  • Recent alerts
  • Rank check history
  • Local search visibility scores
  • Job posting signals
  • Owner response rates
The AI context is updated each time the agent runs, so reports always reflect the latest state.
