Layout
The dashboard uses a collapsible left sidebar for navigation and a content area to the right. On small screens the sidebar becomes a horizontal tab bar at the top of the page.Sidebar
The sidebar lists every section of the dashboard. Click any item to switch to that section — your position is remembered across page reloads. Click the arrow button at the top of the sidebar to collapse it to icon-only mode, giving you more horizontal space for content. Search is the first item in the sidebar. Click it, or press⌘K (Mac) / Ctrl+K (Windows), to open the command palette. From there you can jump to any tab, open settings pages, or search for specific competitors and actions by name.

Health score
The health score is a single number from 0 to 100 that represents how strong a business appears on Google Maps. NearIQ calculates it for every business — your own and every competitor you track. The score combines four components:| Component | Points | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Star rating | 0–45 | Current Google rating out of 5 |
| Review volume | 0–30 | Total review count (log scale: 10 reviews ≈ 10 pts, 2,000 reviews = 30 pts) |
| Rating trend | −10 to +10 | Whether the rating rose or fell since the last snapshot |
| Review velocity | 0–15 | New reviews added since the last snapshot |

- 75–100 — Strong
- 55–74 — Moderate
- 35–54 — Weak
- 0–34 — Very weak
Why the score changes over time
Why the score changes over time
Trend and velocity components only activate once NearIQ has taken at least two snapshots of a business. Until then, those components use a neutral default so the score is still useful from day one.
The health score gives you a quick way to rank competitors and spot who is gaining or losing ground — it is not a reflection of overall business quality or customer satisfaction.
Theme toggle
Click the sun/moon icon in the top-right navigation bar to switch between light and dark mode. Your preference is saved to your profile and applied across all devices.Multi-location switcher
If you have more than one location on your account, a location picker appears in the centre of the top navigation bar. Click it to see all your locations grouped by workspace, then click any location to switch to it. All tabs reload their data for the selected location.Adding locations requires an Agency plan or higher. On Agency+ plans, the location picker also shows an Add location button.
⌘K command palette
Press⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) from anywhere in the dashboard to open the command palette. Type to search across tabs, settings pages, and actions. Use the arrow keys to navigate results and Enter to activate the selected item. Press Escape to close it.
The palette indexes every dashboard section, account settings, competitor actions, and documentation pages, so you can reach anything in one keystroke without knowing where it lives.
