What you see: move from the map into competitor inspection, add a nearby competitor to tracking, then open the tracked competitor list for review. The clip uses product-demo sample data only.

## Adding competitors

Click **Add competitor** and search by business name or address. NearIQ matches the business listing and stores a stable listing ID for accurate tracking.

You can also use **Auto-suggest** to find businesses in your category within a configurable radius. This is useful when your true local-search competitors differ from the businesses you already know by name.

## What NearIQ tracks per competitor

For each competitor, NearIQ checks and stores:

| Recent hiring signals | Daily |
| Detected products and services | When available |

| Valuation and revenue estimates | After add, sync, or backfill |
| Public contact and social links | Growth+ enrichment, when available |

## Contact enrichment

Growth and higher plans can enrich tracked competitors with publicly available website contact signals. NearIQ checks the competitor website and common contact/about pages, respects robots.txt, stores discovered contact email encrypted at rest, and exposes it only through authenticated dashboard or export surfaces. Owner or contact names can also come from stored public owner-response attribution when available.

## Revenue and business value intelligence

Competitor cards can show estimated annual revenue and estimated business value when enough public signals are available. Internal valuation signals are used for sorting and tiers, but the app presents user-facing valuation as dollar estimates. These numbers are directional estimates for prioritization and comparison. They are not financial appraisals.

Use them to answer questions like:

* Which competitors look strongest overall?
* Which competitors have a large review moat but weak engagement?
* Which competitors might be high-value threats versus turnaround opportunities?
* Where does your business sit against the market average?

## Products, services, and pricing

Competitor products and prices can come from public listing product data, website changes, imports, or review mentions. NearIQ ranks those sources by confidence instead of treating every number equally. Fresh website pricing changes are highlighted as recent evidence, public listing product prices are strong customer-visible evidence, and review-mentioned prices are lower-confidence clues.

When website and listing prices disagree, use the conflict as an investigation prompt: confirm the current website and listing price before changing your own offer, launching an ad, or publishing a comparison.
